Addison feels busier than its size suggests. On a weekday it’s an office and lunch destination; on summer evenings and festival weekends, crowds fill its parks. If you want restaurants and events close to home without the scale of a big city, it’s worth a look.
A small town with a big events calendar
Addison Circle Park is the town’s event lawn, hosting Taste Addison, Kaboom Town!, Oktoberfest, and Addison After Dark. Vitruvian Park, with its spring-fed creek, adds events like Vitruvian Lights. If you live nearby, expect lively weekends and plan around event traffic.
Housing: mostly apartments and townhomes
Most of Addison’s homes are apartments and townhomes, including the urban-style blocks around Addison Circle and newer communities near Vitruvian Park. Single-family homes exist but are less common. Townhome buyers should review HOA dues, rules, and reserves along with property taxes.
Dining and errands
Belt Line Road is lined with restaurants, and many more sit just off it. Major shopping at the Galleria area is a short drive south. Everyday errands often mean a short drive, since the town is compact but bordered by busy roads.
Getting around
The Dallas North Tollway and I-635 make car commutes straightforward. Since October 2025, Addison Station on the Silver Line has connected the town to Plano, Richardson, Carrollton, and DFW Airport, and Addison voters chose in May 2026 to stay in DART. Addison Airport serves private and business aviation on the town’s west side.
Schools
Addison is served by Dallas ISD and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. Dallas ISD’s George H. W. Bush Elementary is the only public elementary inside the town. Confirm assignments for each address.

Addison’s typical value was roughly flat over the year to August 2026 in this dataset. Because so much of Addison’s housing is townhomes and condos, compare like with like: a townhome near Addison Circle and a single-family home elsewhere in town are different markets.
